Giant Puppet/ Wearable art costume designed, built and puppeteered for the RWCMD wearable art show.
Built out of a series of hollow willow stick structures covered in gum strip and scrap wall paper, connected by leather joints.
A backpack forms the main weight- bearing point, with tabs to hold the headpiece and remove weight off the performer’s head. Back legs are strapped to the performers legs to utilise a single puppeteer’s full breadth of movement.

Responding to the theme ‘underwater’, this creature puppet/ costume allowed me to create an incredible range of dynamic movements, with crutches in the legs allowing me to explore different possibilities for weight transference and extension.
