MONTY THE DOG
Monty the dog was created for a production of ‘Spawn’. This show was devised, made and performed at the RWCMD.
He is made using a mix of recycled/ repurposed materials and warbla with a un-triggered elastic mouth mechanism.
Monty needed to be high energy, with the ability to run fast, chase and jump. His body was designed carefully to allow for this full breadth of movement, with little strain on the puppeteer.
Body Design/ Making Process
Internal structure designs- A series of wooden hoops suspended in recycled packing plastic tube to emulate natural running movement.
